Thomas Alejandro Fernandez Ramirez
Full-stack developer. Born and raised in Oslo.
I grew up in Oslo, moved to Trondheim to study Computer Science at NTNU, and came back with a master's degree and a drive to build things that matter.
During my studies I was an active part of Online, the student organization for Computer Science at NTNU. I joined the branding committee, Prokom, where I helped shape how the organization presented itself outward -- designing posters, creating content, coordinating with companies for planned events, and generally making sure things looked and felt right.
I also helped push for the creation of YFF, the first independent student association for sign language and interpreting. Seeing it grow into something that still stands strong today taught me a lot about what it takes to build something from scratch that people actually care about.
My bachelor's thesis explored the digitalization of the hearing aid industry -- how legacy systems meet modern expectations, and what it takes to bridge that gap. My master's thesis took a different turn: using machine learning to detect far-right radicalization on social media. The research adapted detection methods from Islamic radicalization studies and applied them to platforms like Gab, achieving an F1 score of 0.947 when combining linguistic and behavioral features.
After graduating I joined Blank, a product development consultancy in Oslo, where I worked on real client projects and sharpened my craft in a team of specialists who care deeply about quality.
Now I work at IT AS, delivering tailored MES solutions for the fishing industry and other heavy industries. Custom systems, real constraints, tangible impact.
On my own time I build things like Tsundoku -- a social platform for book lovers -- because I believe the best way to grow is to ship things you care about.
